We are currently working on our 4th book: The Wanderer's Guide to South Central Utah. Since the GPS tracks are now complete, we've decided to release that data while we continue working on the companion handbook.
The master map covers Capitol Reef National Park, San Rafael Swell, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, I-70, Highway 12, Hole-In-The-Rock Road, Escalante, Boulder, Hanksville, Torrey and Kanab, as well as the Dixie National Forest. This area is one of the most diverse places in the United States. It includes numerous geologic wonders such as slot canyons, arches, natural bridges, and archaeological sites. The GPS data includes the location of over 150 rock art panels, many of which consist of Barrier-Canyon pictographs.
Many people consider Utah Highway 12 to be the most beautiful scenic drive in the country. It slices through slickrock desert, wild canyon country, high mountains, and along the top of narrow rock ridges. In addition to the paved roads, our maps include a number of scenic dirt and 4x4 backroads, along with hundreds of vehicle-accessible campsites.
As always, those who purchase the GPS bundle will be notified as we begin releasing chapters of the companion handbook. Photos of some places that are included in this book are shown below.
