The Sandthrax Petroglyphs In Utah

Unlike more famous panels in the region, Sandthrax is remote and rarely visited, even being missed by many people staying in the small campground! Combined with the easy slot at Leprechaun Canyon, it makes a perfect stop for those visiting the Mighty 5 National Parks!

FINDING THE TRAILHEAD
Find the information board in the campground and park there. The rock art panel is on the rock wall in front of you, and slightly to the south. The photo below shows this location.

Visitors are asked to respect this fragile site by not touching the rock art and leaving no trace. There are two technical slot canyons nearby (Leprechaun & Sandthrax). These require technical climbing equipment and must be started from the upper end, but both can be explored for a short distance from the lower end.
