Soldiers Pass is a system trail in the Coconino National Forest. It is well marked with signs and easy to follow. One of the most popular trails in town, Soldiers Pass is a gateway to three of Sedona's most photographed locations, including the Devil's Kitchen sinkhole, Seven Pools, the Spirit Caves.
The other reason to hike Soldiers Pass is to form a scenic loop by connecting to Brins Mesa and the Jordan Trail. This moderately difficult 6 mile loop has an elevation gain of 1200 ft and takes approximately 3-5 hours.
FINDING THE TRAILHEAD
The best place to park is either the parking area at Soldiers Pass (only open Monday - Wednesday), or the Posse Grounds Park & Ride (free shuttle required). The Soldiers Pass parking area is located in a residential neighborhood, all of which is a tow-away zone if you park on the street.
